Althea
A website that I've been following until now since the day they launched the website. It's one of the best online beauty shopping website that provides a wide range of Korean beauty products with affordable price. I always look into their website whenever I want to restock some products because they often provide good deals on their website and sometimes the price is cheaper too. If you are following my YouTube channel, you will know that I'm actually quite into their beauty box.

Today, I'm not going to review about their beauty box. I will be reviewing about their first Althea product that was up on their website since 1st August 2017, the Althea Petal Velvet Powder.

The PR box came to my doorstep earlier this August and I was really excited about it. The first thought that I had after I opened the package was: "It's so cute!".

It has a very minimalist-designed container with baby pink color cover and the Althea logo on it.

After you opened the cover, you can see a 13mm thick, fluffy puff for the powder application.

Inspired by the national flower of Korea, this is a little bit about the Althea Petal Velvet Powder:
  • It is translucent powder for makeup setting
  • It is suitable for long wearing
  • Made with micro-fine particle with a soft and smooth texture
  • Made by natural and cruelty free ingredients (non-comedogenic)
  • Provides sebum control and pore blurring effects
It contains 3 main ingredients:
  • Althea: To prevents skin from dehydration
  • Polyphenols: To protect our skin from UV and sun exposure
  • Saponarin: To repair damage skin cells and restore skin elasticity (Anti-aging)

Let's see how it looks after application.
As you can see, the powder is white in color which made me a bit worried at first. I was afraid that after the application, the powder will make my face looks whiter.

However, after applied and blended it evenly onto our skin, it did not look white at all. This is really good because it won't give a brighter tone to our makeup. But it gave a satin finish which made my makeup looked a bit glowy after the application. But seriously, the texture is very smooth after application and it's very light-weighted on our skin too.

As for the pores blurring effect, I personally think that it's still a bit lacking compared to the other translucent powder. And I don't know why, it seems like when the powder set into my skin's fine lines, it made the lines looked more obvious. Other than that, I noticed that it carried a light scent, and it smelled like a flower scent. But, I don't really prefer the scent though. Just not the scent that I will like.

Personal thought:
Overall, it's a good translucent powder as it gives a satin finish, nice texture, good sebum control, average pores blurring effect and so on.... (the list goes on).  The best thing is the retail price of it, it only costs us like RM16, which is a great deal. For anyone that would like to look for a good and affordable translucent powder, Althea Petal Velvet Powder can be one of your choices. However, I still prefer a more matte-finished powder because I don't really prefer the glowy makeup look.

Hello again!
Yes, I'm here to share a product review with all of you and it's the...*Drumrolls*
.
.
O~HI! Deep Cleansing Water!
.
.
Firstly, I would like to thank O-HI! Hong Kong agent for sending this product to me. It came at a right time as my previous cleansing water almost empty. It is a 500 ml big bottle of cleansing water which made the parcel quite heavy. The price of it is HKD $118 for this one big bottle.

The texture is very watery and it's transparent in color which make it looks like water. To use it, you may pour out the cleansing water onto the cotton puff and wipe off your makeup.

To further show the effects of the cleansing water, I tried to remove different makeup products by using it.

I tried to wipe off the BB cream I put on the back of my hand, it wiped off the BB Cushion at the 1st wipe. The result was good as it really cleansed the products very well in a short time. It does not has a sticky texture which is a plus point for it and my skin actually felt moisturizing after using it.

Next, I tried to use it to remove the eyeshadow, eyebrow, liquid eyeliner (waterproof) and gel eyeliner (waterproof). If you are removing your eyes makeup with the cleansing water, it is recommended to pour the product onto the cotton puff and put in on your makeup for 10 seconds before you wipe off your makeup.

The result was good. As you can see in the photo, during the 1st wipe, half of the makeup products gone. During the second wipe, most of the products gone except the gel eyeliner. Therefore during the third wipe, I try to put the cotton puff onto the gel eyeliner for another few seconds and then wipe it off again. As you can see, it was wiped off cleanly.

Next, I will try to cleanse off my lip products. By repeating the same steps, I will try it on the matte lip liquid, lipstick., lip balm, lip lacquer and lip tint.

As you can see in the photo, during the first wipe, half of the products were gone. During the second wipe most of the products were gone except matte lip liquid and lip lacquer. During the third wipe, I tried to put the cotton puff on it for another few seconds and wipe it off. Most of the lip products were gone except the matte lip liquid and lip tint, which still left a little bit of traces on my hand.

Personal thought:
It came in a big bottle which is very good because I used cleansing water almost everyday to remove my makeup. The texture was very watery and it really did a good job in removing most of the makeup products. The plus point of it is, it did not make my skin feels dry but it actually moisturizes my skin instead. Just remember to wash it off after you used it. Although it does not feel sticky, but it does give a little bit of greasy feel actually.

Hello again!

During July, I attended the Pika Pika Sparkling Bright Tea Party together with all the other butterflies. Thanks to The Butterfly Project for having me and thanks to Watsons for holding the tea party at Foret Blanc, the place was gorgeous.

So, why I was there?
.
.
.
.
I was there for the new skin care line all the way from Japan, Pika Pika (ピカピカ). I was told that the products from this new brand will give me a bright and sparkly skin!

Basically, three products from Pika Pika were introduced and highlighted during the Tea Party which were:-
  • Pika Pika Sparkling Bright Fruity Deep Cleansing (190 ml)
  • Pika Pika Sparkling Bright Hot & Cold Cleansing Gel (35g)
  • Pika Pika Sparkling Fruity Peel Off Mask (80g)

Of course the main highlight of the day will be the Pika Pika Sparkling Bright Fruity Deep Cleansing.

We were told to bring our own waterproof cosmetics to the event because there was a No Mirror Makeup Challenge. I brought all my daily makeup products there and I tried to add on my makeup without mirror, believe me, it was not easy.

After added on makeup, I quickly took out my phone camera and check on my makeup. Luckily it wasn't as bad as I thought, just the eyeliner is a bit out of line. The flaws were not really visible on camera though, so it's okay.

It's time to prove the effectiveness of Pika Pika Sparkling Fruity Deep Cleansing. All set to try out the cleansing liquid.

Each one of us were given a big bowl of water for the cleansing session. We will have to cleanse our face and wash off with this bowl of water.

Pika Pika Sparkling Bright Fruity Deep Cleansing (Price: RM79)
The texture was quite watery. It contains natural fruit extract, AHA and also BHA which is good for dissolving dead skin and impurities in clogged pores. As introduced by the host, by using this, you can easily removes makeup during showers too.

My bare face after cleansing.
I really not used to the fact that I have zero makeup on my face in front of so many people. But it's really a good experience. As you can see, it removes all of my makeup and even my mascara too in a short time. I was amazed by the effectiveness.

Just look at how many makeup products were being removed because the water was so cloudy after we cleanse our face.

Pika Pika Sparkling Bright Hot & Cold Cleansing Gel (Price: RM 39)
This is a very unique product which carry out cleansing and repairing at the same time. After I applied it on my face, it felt a little bit warm. I was quite surprised on how it works on my skin. The thermal effect helps to enlarge the pores for removing blackheads and dirt. After that, the menthol effect was able to help soothe the skin and shrink the pores. By using this, it helps in purifying dead skin and also absorbs excess oil on our skin.

Pika Pika Sparkling Fruity Peel Off Mask (Price: RM 49)
Then, the peel off mask was introduced by the host, stated that it can helps in reviving our dull skin in a short time. It also helps to purify dead skin and absorbs excess oil on our skin too. It contains Arbutin to helps inhibit dark spots and freckle and it prevents skin aging. I tried to applied on my hand since it need some time (roughly 15 to 20 min) to completely dry.

After it dried, I tried to peel off the mask on my hand. My hand became so smooth after the peel off mask. Just that I think it is a bit dry for me, so I have to apply another layer of moisturizer afterwards.

After tried out all the products from Pika Pika, finally all of us got to enjoy the dessert prepared by Foret Blanc. The desserts were so adorable and everyone there was taking the photo of the desserts non-stop. I personally prefer the macaroon and the chocolate.

There was also cake for us to enjoy.

It really surprised me and made my day, the cute Unicorn macaroon.

Lastly, they brought out their signature dessert and it was so adorable. It's a unicorn with edible wings. I was quite surprised that all the parts of the unicorn were edible. The portion was quite huge so I think it is recommended to share it with your friends or family.

I took so many photos with it...

We also got a goodies bag too!
Thank you Watsons and The Butterfly Project!

Hello everyone!

Today I'm going to blog about the community that I joined since long time ago. I never really thought about how long I joined The Butterfly Project until the party day. Each of us has to tell everyone there about how long we've been with The Butterfly Project. Well, I kinda calculated the years, that's the time when I realized that I joined the community during the first year. And, 4 years passed, it's really hard to believe that time flies so fast without us knowing.

That's why, thanks to Tammy for the invitation to join The Butterfly 4th Birthday Party. I really glad to be at the party and also be part of the community.
The party was held at Hello Deer, Damansara Utama on 20th May 2017.

Greeted by this big black board.
Everyone was writing their wishes and doodling on the board.
I wrote something on it too!
"Happy Birthday, The Butterfly Project!"

Greeted by cupcakes, cakes, snacks, food and so much more.

Everything at the party was so pretty and dreamy. I really like the party decoration, simple and pastel. The dress code was pastel too, so everyone came in a really nice pastel outfit. Everything was so pastel.

The party started with a welcome speech by Leonard and Tammy. Then moved on to the most excited session which is the Unboxing Session with Sydney.
There was a goodies bag on every seat when we entered the venue, and it was filled with a lot of products inside. I was so surprised by the amount of products inside, seriously it was a lot. Everyone was so happy about it including me. I was "Unbag-ing" it like a happy kid who received a huge present bag, I really have to thank all the sponsors for all the products inside. (I felt like it was my birthday, lol.)

I was so happy to take a photo with this setup. Thanks to Dash, Zoelie and Candace for the help in setting up all the products.

And I did an Unbag video for the Birthday Bag too!
Hope you all like my video sharing =)

The party was kinda casual. Basically it was like a huge gathering for all the butterflies to know each other more.
Photo with Dash and she's a Beauty Youtuber.
I really like all her videos and her makeup is very nice.

Photo with Candace and she's a blogger.
Met her during previous event and became friend. =)

Photo with Eros and he's a blogger, Youtuber and photographer for the party.
I really like all the photos he took, really nice~

Photo with Zoelie, she's a blogger and YouTuber.
Discovered her channel and noticed she played Mystic Messenger too.

Photo with Ben Dan.
Long time no see and finally met at the party. =)

Photo with Janice.
Met at the party and got to take a photo with her too~

The VVIP for the party, Tammy.
The founder of The Butterfly Project.
Thank you for creating the community.
Thank you for bringing us together.
Thank you for everything.

At the end of the party, there was a prize giving ceremony.
There were 2 contests during the party, the best Butterfly Party Makeup and the Best Birthday Unboxing Instagram Sharing. I won the consolation prize for he Instagram Sharing contest. It was really unexpected because I thought there were only 3 prizes for the Instagram Sharing contest. They decided to add in more prizes at the very last minute and I won one of it. Sadly, I don't have any photos for that moment (Really happy until forgot to take photo, lol.)

Lastly, my makeup of the day. #motd
Pastel and flower theme for the party.

Once again, Happy Birthday to The Butterfly Project!

xoxo.

Hello again~
Today I will be sharing something special with all of you. =)
Thanks to The Butterfly Project for the invitation to the elegant "Tai-tais style" Butterfly Soiree's session with the others beautiful butterflies at the newly refurbished Posh! Nail Spa, TTDI. It's definitely one of my best Saturday evening.

It's really nice to have such a nice session for one of my Saturday evening. I got to pampered myself from all the hectic days of working. Not only I can get the first class manicure and pedicure during the party, there's also a cocktail session by La Rose Noire & Wine Talk Malaysia too.

When I was there, I was so happy to see the nicely decorated desserts on the serving table. It definitely brightens up my day because I really like sweet things. =)

I don't feel like eating it because it's too pretty!

Definitely amazed by this Eiffel Tower which was decorated by macaroons.
Thanks to La Rose Noire for all these awesome desserts.

To further perfect the dessert session, we have the chance to pair it with a slightly bubbly and sweet Moscato white wine. All thanks to Wine Talk Malaysia for the white wine. I'm not a wine person but I really like the wine of that day.

It's really good to have the expert to further explain about the desserts and the wine. I really did learned a lot especially about the desserts. (Not really know about other desserts except macaroons, lol.)

The party started with a talk given by the founder, Sereen.
She was also very kind to showed us around the newly renovated Posh! Nail Spa, which was a good chance for me to explore more about the place.

The indoor environment decoration was so minimalism with simple white and dark colors design. It's very cozy and comfortable environment to spend your time here.

The nail polish colors selection display on the wall.

Award trophies and some nail arts decorations.

The huge wall background decorated with some beauty things such as nail polish, nail art inspiration designs and makeup brush. They said they will put on more things to make it even more pretty. It's definitely a good background for nice photos.

More nail arts display.

Makeup section which is like a dream for me.
I always wish to have a makeup area just like this in my room, I believe every girl does dream to have one of this awesome makeup section just for themselves.

Equipped with a huge collection of makeup tools.

Then, we have the Nail Artist explained about her nail art inspirations.

These were all designed by her.
I really like the pastel colorful set on the top right side in the photo.

Munching on Macaroons.
I really like sweet stuffs, definitely a good chance for me to grab a few different desserts to eat during the evening. La Rose Noire did spoil me with their desserts, taste so good.

I pretty into this one, discovered this new desserts, Les Petitclairs, thanks to La Rose Noire.

Finally met her, Rachell during this evening session after so many events.
Thanks to her for bringing me around to know more butterflies~

And then, here began my "Tai-tai's" lifestyle for the day.
We can have either manicure or pedicure express service on that day. Since most of my nail color on my toes were completely came off, I decided to go for the pedicure.
Finally can get rid of my old nail colors and move on with new one.

Can see my expression, super happy and satisfied with the service~

For the pedicure, we were able to choose up to two colors for our toes nail.
I chose to go with only normal plain colors for my toes since I wanted it to be simple and neat. Since there were a lot of color selections by Posh! I kinda had a difficult time in choosing the right colors to dress up my toes nail.

Thank you for the nice service.

Please forgive my super ugly toes. lol.
The color I chose was a plain dark purple. It was a bit too plain, so I decided to add some glitters on my two big toes nail for a little bit of 'bling bling'. The reason why I prefer a darker colors for my toes nail was because I believe that dark color toes nail can make my leg looks whiter. Lol.

Pretend to be Tai-tais again in this photo.
Thanks Nicole for helping me to take this photo, she was so kind and I was a bit surprised that she offered to take photo for me. I really appreciate it. =)
I was actually reading their booklet (Not pretending ya..) while waiting for my toes nail's colors to dry completely. Normal nail colors need more time to dry up so if you are going to do normal nail colors (not the gel color) then you will have to be patient and wait for like... roughly two hours for it to dry. And remember to bring sandals/slippers to change on because you will not want to spoil your nails color. =)

The end results of my toes nail color.
And also the end of my 'tai-tais' lifestyle. lol.

It's definitely a well-spent evening at Posh! Nail Spa. =)

Extra session with Posh!Nail Spa...
I actually got some vouchers for my next visit, which was so awesome. June is my birthday month and I really excited to get my nails done by using these vouchers.

I'm so happy to have my nails done before my birthday and I really like the colors. Accidentally found this colors that change from blue to purple under certain light condition. It's really a nice gel colors. Along with the blue purple colors, I also paired it with a glittery light purple color, the best colors combination ever! (based on my own opinion)

That's all for my review.
xoxo.
