Althea
A website that I've been following until now since the day they launched the website. It's one of the best online beauty shopping website that provides a wide range of Korean beauty products with affordable price. I always look into their website whenever I want to restock some products because they often provide good deals on their website and sometimes the price is cheaper too. If you are following my YouTube channel, you will know that I'm actually quite into their beauty box.

Today, I'm not going to review about their beauty box. I will be reviewing about their first Althea product that was up on their website since 1st August 2017, the Althea Petal Velvet Powder.

The PR box came to my doorstep earlier this August and I was really excited about it. The first thought that I had after I opened the package was: "It's so cute!".

It has a very minimalist-designed container with baby pink color cover and the Althea logo on it.

After you opened the cover, you can see a 13mm thick, fluffy puff for the powder application.

Inspired by the national flower of Korea, this is a little bit about the Althea Petal Velvet Powder:
  • It is translucent powder for makeup setting
  • It is suitable for long wearing
  • Made with micro-fine particle with a soft and smooth texture
  • Made by natural and cruelty free ingredients (non-comedogenic)
  • Provides sebum control and pore blurring effects
It contains 3 main ingredients:
  • Althea: To prevents skin from dehydration
  • Polyphenols: To protect our skin from UV and sun exposure
  • Saponarin: To repair damage skin cells and restore skin elasticity (Anti-aging)

Let's see how it looks after application.
As you can see, the powder is white in color which made me a bit worried at first. I was afraid that after the application, the powder will make my face looks whiter.

However, after applied and blended it evenly onto our skin, it did not look white at all. This is really good because it won't give a brighter tone to our makeup. But it gave a satin finish which made my makeup looked a bit glowy after the application. But seriously, the texture is very smooth after application and it's very light-weighted on our skin too.

As for the pores blurring effect, I personally think that it's still a bit lacking compared to the other translucent powder. And I don't know why, it seems like when the powder set into my skin's fine lines, it made the lines looked more obvious. Other than that, I noticed that it carried a light scent, and it smelled like a flower scent. But, I don't really prefer the scent though. Just not the scent that I will like.

Personal thought:
Overall, it's a good translucent powder as it gives a satin finish, nice texture, good sebum control, average pores blurring effect and so on.... (the list goes on).  The best thing is the retail price of it, it only costs us like RM16, which is a great deal. For anyone that would like to look for a good and affordable translucent powder, Althea Petal Velvet Powder can be one of your choices. However, I still prefer a more matte-finished powder because I don't really prefer the glowy makeup look.

Hello again!
Yes, I'm here to share a product review with all of you and it's the...*Drumrolls*
.
.
O~HI! Deep Cleansing Water!
.
.
Firstly, I would like to thank O-HI! Hong Kong agent for sending this product to me. It came at a right time as my previous cleansing water almost empty. It is a 500 ml big bottle of cleansing water which made the parcel quite heavy. The price of it is HKD $118 for this one big bottle.

The texture is very watery and it's transparent in color which make it looks like water. To use it, you may pour out the cleansing water onto the cotton puff and wipe off your makeup.

To further show the effects of the cleansing water, I tried to remove different makeup products by using it.

I tried to wipe off the BB cream I put on the back of my hand, it wiped off the BB Cushion at the 1st wipe. The result was good as it really cleansed the products very well in a short time. It does not has a sticky texture which is a plus point for it and my skin actually felt moisturizing after using it.

Next, I tried to use it to remove the eyeshadow, eyebrow, liquid eyeliner (waterproof) and gel eyeliner (waterproof). If you are removing your eyes makeup with the cleansing water, it is recommended to pour the product onto the cotton puff and put in on your makeup for 10 seconds before you wipe off your makeup.

The result was good. As you can see in the photo, during the 1st wipe, half of the makeup products gone. During the second wipe, most of the products gone except the gel eyeliner. Therefore during the third wipe, I try to put the cotton puff onto the gel eyeliner for another few seconds and then wipe it off again. As you can see, it was wiped off cleanly.

Next, I will try to cleanse off my lip products. By repeating the same steps, I will try it on the matte lip liquid, lipstick., lip balm, lip lacquer and lip tint.

As you can see in the photo, during the first wipe, half of the products were gone. During the second wipe most of the products were gone except matte lip liquid and lip lacquer. During the third wipe, I tried to put the cotton puff on it for another few seconds and wipe it off. Most of the lip products were gone except the matte lip liquid and lip tint, which still left a little bit of traces on my hand.

Personal thought:
It came in a big bottle which is very good because I used cleansing water almost everyday to remove my makeup. The texture was very watery and it really did a good job in removing most of the makeup products. The plus point of it is, it did not make my skin feels dry but it actually moisturizes my skin instead. Just remember to wash it off after you used it. Although it does not feel sticky, but it does give a little bit of greasy feel actually.

Hello again!

During July, I attended the Pika Pika Sparkling Bright Tea Party together with all the other butterflies. Thanks to The Butterfly Project for having me and thanks to Watsons for holding the tea party at Foret Blanc, the place was gorgeous.

So, why I was there?
.
.
.
.
I was there for the new skin care line all the way from Japan, Pika Pika (ピカピカ). I was told that the products from this new brand will give me a bright and sparkly skin!

Basically, three products from Pika Pika were introduced and highlighted during the Tea Party which were:-
  • Pika Pika Sparkling Bright Fruity Deep Cleansing (190 ml)
  • Pika Pika Sparkling Bright Hot & Cold Cleansing Gel (35g)
  • Pika Pika Sparkling Fruity Peel Off Mask (80g)

Of course the main highlight of the day will be the Pika Pika Sparkling Bright Fruity Deep Cleansing.

We were told to bring our own waterproof cosmetics to the event because there was a No Mirror Makeup Challenge. I brought all my daily makeup products there and I tried to add on my makeup without mirror, believe me, it was not easy.

After added on makeup, I quickly took out my phone camera and check on my makeup. Luckily it wasn't as bad as I thought, just the eyeliner is a bit out of line. The flaws were not really visible on camera though, so it's okay.

It's time to prove the effectiveness of Pika Pika Sparkling Fruity Deep Cleansing. All set to try out the cleansing liquid.

Each one of us were given a big bowl of water for the cleansing session. We will have to cleanse our face and wash off with this bowl of water.

Pika Pika Sparkling Bright Fruity Deep Cleansing (Price: RM79)
The texture was quite watery. It contains natural fruit extract, AHA and also BHA which is good for dissolving dead skin and impurities in clogged pores. As introduced by the host, by using this, you can easily removes makeup during showers too.

My bare face after cleansing.
I really not used to the fact that I have zero makeup on my face in front of so many people. But it's really a good experience. As you can see, it removes all of my makeup and even my mascara too in a short time. I was amazed by the effectiveness.

Just look at how many makeup products were being removed because the water was so cloudy after we cleanse our face.

Pika Pika Sparkling Bright Hot & Cold Cleansing Gel (Price: RM 39)
This is a very unique product which carry out cleansing and repairing at the same time. After I applied it on my face, it felt a little bit warm. I was quite surprised on how it works on my skin. The thermal effect helps to enlarge the pores for removing blackheads and dirt. After that, the menthol effect was able to help soothe the skin and shrink the pores. By using this, it helps in purifying dead skin and also absorbs excess oil on our skin.

Pika Pika Sparkling Fruity Peel Off Mask (Price: RM 49)
Then, the peel off mask was introduced by the host, stated that it can helps in reviving our dull skin in a short time. It also helps to purify dead skin and absorbs excess oil on our skin too. It contains Arbutin to helps inhibit dark spots and freckle and it prevents skin aging. I tried to applied on my hand since it need some time (roughly 15 to 20 min) to completely dry.

After it dried, I tried to peel off the mask on my hand. My hand became so smooth after the peel off mask. Just that I think it is a bit dry for me, so I have to apply another layer of moisturizer afterwards.

After tried out all the products from Pika Pika, finally all of us got to enjoy the dessert prepared by Foret Blanc. The desserts were so adorable and everyone there was taking the photo of the desserts non-stop. I personally prefer the macaroon and the chocolate.

There was also cake for us to enjoy.

It really surprised me and made my day, the cute Unicorn macaroon.

Lastly, they brought out their signature dessert and it was so adorable. It's a unicorn with edible wings. I was quite surprised that all the parts of the unicorn were edible. The portion was quite huge so I think it is recommended to share it with your friends or family.

I took so many photos with it...

We also got a goodies bag too!
Thank you Watsons and The Butterfly Project!
